Doing it on the desktop site is much easier, so I suggest you do it this way.

USING THE MOBILE APP
1. Open up the Facebook mobile application.
2. Tap on the Facebook menu, which resembles 3 stacked lines, at the bottom right of the screen.
3. When the menu opens, move up till you get to the end of the menu and tap on the Settings option.
4. Then touch on the Account Settings option.
5. Tap on the General settings alternative.
6. Tap on Manage Account (Legacy Contact and Deactivation Settings).
7. Tap onDeactivate.
8. Tap on the factor that you desire to shut off the account. If the application prompts you to log out instead, touch the Close button.
9. If it asks you to enter your password to validate deactivation throughout these actions, enter your password.
10. Scroll to the bottom of the display and then click Deactivate.
11. When you click Deactivate, you will be turned off and back at the login screen.
The screenshots listed below stroll you via deactivating from the mobile app.
USING THE DESKTOP SITE
To deactivate your Facebook account using the desktop site, it is a little easier.
1. Click this link to go straight to the Facebook shut off account screen: https://www.facebook.com/deactivate/.
2. Once on that screen, select the reason you desire to deactivate your Facebook account.
3. Then scroll down and click deactivate.
