How To Permanently Delete Messages On Facebook
Step 1. Click the "Messages" symbol on your Facebook homepage. The Messages symbol is located in the top left corner and also resembles two small overlapping speech bubbles.
Step 2. Click the discussion having the message or messages you want to delete. If it is not detailed on the first Messages pop-up window, click "See All" to check out all of your personal messages. Click the conversation on that listing consisting of the message you intend to delete.
Step 3. Click the "Actions" button and then click "Delete Messages" on the Activities drop-down menu.
Step 4. Click the check boxes situated next to the messages you intend to erase.
Click "Delete" and then click "Delete Messages" to validate that you want to erase the picked messages.
Idea
To erase an entire discussion instead of specific messages, click "Delete Conversation" after clicking the Actions menu in the 3rd step.
Caution
Removing a private message in your Messages inbox does not delete it from the inbox of your conversation partner.
